The Customer Service Communications team builds VoIP and web-based systems that connect our customers to our associates via phone, chat, email, or social media. We are building innovative cloud-based technology that will allow Amazon and its partners to quickly configure a toll-free number to start taking customer phone calls from anywhere, be it a large call center or their mobile phone. We build these systems using highly scalable, distributed computing techniques and intuitive UI so that they are both able to handle Amazon’s volumes and are easy to use.
As a member of our team, you will design, build and deliver technology that directly impacts thousands of global employees. You will work directly with software connected to almost all of the systems in Amazon. You will have the opportunity to provide direction to our businesses and guide the design of our systems based on realistic time lines and resource constraints. Basic Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- Experience communicating with both technical and business audiences
- Background in computer science basics (data structures, sorting/searching algorithms, order analysis)
- Experience with designing, building, and deploying scalable, highly available systems
- Fluency in C++ and/or Java
Preferred Qualifications
- Willingness to deeply understand the goals and challenges of informational operations
- Analytical abilities, proven design skills and a track record of delivery
- Experience with CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, Perl
- Experience with data analysis/mining in large scale database environments
- Linux experience
- Lean methodology experience
